Cinco de Mayo ( ~ )

(WARNING,  PORTIONS OF THIS POST ARE HIGHLY OPINIONATED,  MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY  the author takes no responsibility for any offense inflicted, and is souly responsible for its content.  Any injury due to anger is wholly the responsibility of its owner and will be considered psychologically and souly self-inflicted by the reader)

I spoke to my eldest sister last night and wished her a happy birthday.  We talked awhile about mom and stuff.
When I went to bed I dreamed that we were standing in front of Mom's empty house, burning it down.  We watched it burn until it was just the shell,  then a flaming frame....

It was like we watched it in a type of ceremony or offering,  burnt offering,  very peaceful, watching the smoke rise...   (perhaps my pagan past life memories mingled in?)

I believe this is very important to my healing process and shows some type of acceptance...

Any other insights to this dream would be appreciated.

HAPPY FRIDAY
Going to  Sean808080's for mini 2 day vacation in New Jersey! Cinco de Mayo BBQ Manana (~)

Have a great weekend everybody!

...As far as Cinco de Mayo goes,   and a lot of people would disagree with me ,  and remember I live in NEW YORK CITY where every other person I meet speaks another language and comes from another part of the world

Here in NEW YORK CITY,  we all seem to GET ALONG JUST FINE.   I wonder why?

.Mexican Flag

Happy Cinco de Mayo....

I know many will disagree with me,  and maybe be angry,  but I do "live with them"....   AND

I think that Americans have a CULTURE OF FEAR,   if you study our history this is CLEAR.

Look at the LATEST ISSUE OF NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC.

 AmericanHeritage.com we started out here.

if you have few moments, and care about increasing your knowledge and being a  more intelligent person, the above reading is just fascinating.

....  When someone speaks to you in THEIR SECOND LANGUAGE,,,,

and you don't have A SECOND LANGUAGE,  I hate to tell 'ya,   but although you my think them dumb,  because you've been given/taught that stereotype   (hey meester,  I want u to meet my Seeester!!)

They are actually smarter than you,   you would know this if you spoke a second language,

Obviously   TWO LANGUAGES is MUCH more information than ONE LANGUAGE... this is FACT..

(1 + 1 = 2, see?  i.e.   2 languages in the brain is MORE than 1 language in the brain?  Hello?)

And ,  would it be a nice and respectful gesture,  now in 2007, to welcome the PEOPLE who WE KILLED< RAPED AND PILLAGED to STEAL THEIR LAND??

IF YOU STUDY,   you will see,  and the GOVERMENT KNOWS...   THE AMERICAN ECONOMY WOULD COLLAPSE IF IT WERE NOT FOR ILLEGAL WORKERS, AMONG OTHER THINGS

None of us CHOSE to be born here,  SO WHAT IS THERE TO BE PROUD OF???

Certainly COLONIZATION,  IMPERIALISM,  KILLING  and WIPING OUT A POPULATION.  is NOTHING TO BE PROUD OF

PATROTIC PRIDE IS NOTHING MORE THAN YOUR INSECURE EGO NEEDING TO BELONG TO A GROUP.

America,  Please do your homework, and take your country back.  Besides,  half of the food you eat is theirs,  half of the cities you lived in are named after them AND

Aye, Aye, Aye, Aye,  I Am The FREETO BANDITO!

And MEXICANS,   WELCOME HOME NEIGHBORS!  LET'S TEAR DOWN THE BORDER AND START THE NEW WORLD ORDER OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Revolution comes from intelligence,  and BILINGUALISM is the FIRST STEP TO PEACE.

...  And thank you Mother,  I am a pasty white Gringo,  as WASPY as they come and  MY NAME IS ORLANDO!   AND I LIKE IT!

I think that is a very good analysis of your dream - and the fact that you see that speaks volumes, too. My daughter is a Cinco de Mayo baby! She turns 18 tomorrow. (sniff)

Frankly I tend to agree with you - people should be proud of who they are and where they are from - and we should be bursting with pride that ppl are breaking into our country rather than trying to excape it.  Language though is something I do have a problem with.  While I agree that most Americans are lacking in language skills I also think that any nation should have one language to speak and that's it.  differences tear us apart rather than bind us together - look to the north and see the divisiveness two languages has caused.  If I were to move to Mexico, for example, I would expect that I should learn spanish and not expect the Mexican government to start mandating english as a second language to make it easier for me.  We taxpayers bear the cost of multiple language systems and I'd rather see our tax money used to help new immigrants be assimilated rather than becoming a distinct seperate group.  peace, Al

I'm rather ashamed that here in the UK we don't learn Welsh or Gaelic or even Cornish, particularly as we are supposed to be a UNITED Kingdom. I learnt German for a few years at school but gave it up when I was 16. I think it's a real shame that I haven't got a second language. (I was good at Latin, funnily enough.)

It is true that most people have a dominant language, but if exposed to multiple languages in the early years, it is possible to become bilingual at a young age and have a more expanisve view of the world as well as the ability to at least partially grow the part of the brain that deals with language and other things. There isn't anything limiting about language exposre... as far as governments having to make things available, that's another issue, and of course you would want to speak the language of the people that you assoiciated with.

If we look at Europe and places like India .. it is only the very very poor and disadvantaged people who only have ONE language and are so limited. MOST educated people are at least FIMILAR with differing grammar structures and which leads to understandings of different cultures and different perspectives.

There is only positive, nothing negative from mixing languages. It is A UNIQUE FEAR TO AMERICANS about MIXING LANGUAGES AND CULTURES.. This FEAR is NOT UNIVERSAL.
that's all....
