Self Portrait #2
.mixed media: pencil, charcoal, acrylic, wax, glaze, twine, burnt candle wick on canvas"White Masc"
Interesting to me, about art and photography...
Ironically, and if you think about it for a while, it is DEEPLY, DEEPLY, ironic-
Art and Photography don't mix well :/
The Art OF Photographing ART is an ART/TALENT/SKILL itself...
and I don't really have it :/
..each photo looks different to me and none of them really look like the original.

I like them, Al. I especially like that they're colorful and happy.
I never could get a photo of a picture to come out square. It seems oxymoronic to me that you take a square picture of a square object, but the object turns out looking oblique. (I do get the physics of it, angles and whatnot, but it still seems ironic to me.)

Thank you!
It is difficult to photograph straight on because of the reflection of the flash. These were taken at the angle because of that... I need to try photographing stuff in daylight, I might have an easier time of it... I tend to do these and finish and night and want to get it all over with at once....
Does an editing program help at all? The photographer at the gallery darkens the room and shines a spot lamp on the pieces he takes photos of for post cards or catalogs. But even then some do not turn out as terrific as the original.

I do use an editing program to crop and basic stuff, I don't like to dick around with the color... sometimes more light... I should really wait for natural light, I have great light, just no patience, and it's suppose to rain all weekend :/ I never was any good with a flash.. Light is related to math and dimensions and shutter opening and the left side of my brain is not good and actually making things work, just kind of agreeing with the right brain's basic concept... it still confuses me... you can't beat the sun...
The guy did not use flash, he had a spot light on the piece. Our graphics peeps would edit the picture once he sent the image. But again, some images never compared to the original work. But rarely.
